![]() V.A. A taste of ... Internal Bass Internal Bass |
Although we
like to bring you in the first place news about the
latest releases here, sometimes an album just escapes us
at release time, and that's what "A taste of ..
Internal Bass" did in 1997. It wasn't until our deep
digger Rebel found this compilation a few weeks ago, that
we discovered this thing of beauty. Can you imagine our
drooling ears when Rebel presented his latest jewel to us
and of course, added with a real Keb Darge smile, that
this was the only copy he had been able to get a hold of.
Sure Rebel! And of course, in one of his remarkable sets
at Komeet Planeet, he digs it up from his deep collection
and teases us by playing only the most infectious grooves
from this compilation, not letting a chance go by to show
his 'I have the GU promo white label on Defender' look. But now, ez strikes back, having finally found his own copy of the tasty apple compilation, enjoys every bite of it and in a stroke of genius once again beats Rebel to make the first review of it. Without a doubt, "A taste of .. Internal Bass" is set to become a highly collectable easy tempo jazzgroove essential. This compilation is a powerpack of the best releases of Internal Bass artists like Down to the bone, The NFL Horns project, Panama Reed and Mr Gone. The music presented here are one for one subtle ingeniously smooth blends of acid jazz, groove and latin salsa jams. Spicey enough to get you moving on irresistable drums, sunny and melodic enough to experience a summertime car trip on a grey rainy day and warm and chilly enough for a soundscape during a love making lazy sunday afternoon. Absolutely recommended and definitely reasons to check this album out are : Panama Reed : Gold metal Kid : superb bass guitar riffs, funky synths and sweet lazy hazy doobiedoowap vocals, woowwwww, a killer track !! Afro Elements : Casa Del Ritmo : Yes, sure, a rythmic groover with funky drive and jazzy trumpets Down to the bone : Brooklyn Heights : Intro of the compilation, setting the mood right with moody and melodic piano strokes on a warm deep bassline. Check it out, add it to your IB Boneshakers series and have your apple! ez feb.99 |
