![]() Nacht Plank 1-12 Microwave - CDr 1998 |
On top of the dark nightly atmosphere, recorded from long forgotten and far away
airwaves, rests a fragile construction of bleeps, clicks and rustling. You think the mishmash of tiny bops and ticks could crumble any minute, yet the architect who made these 12 miniatures seems to have done his work well as they remain firmly standing.
During the 35 minutes of experimenting with ambient soundscapes, there even are a couple of rugged gems hidden that could transform to shiny diamonds when you listen close enough. Nacht Plank is one of the many aliases for Lee Norris, best known for his productions as Metamatics, Norken and his label Neo-Ouija. This is one his most experimental works I've heard and surely has the most distinguished sound. Microwave is related to Staalplaat, so you know you won't hear anything remotely radio-friendly, but the creativity is all the better. Say Vegin |
