Freude-am-Tanzen 006 - 12"
In all honesty and fairness, I'd have to admit that the best days of deep-house are behind us now. Just like this once happened with disco, trance, techno, etc. The genre has been suffering from overexposure, lack of innovation and so on. But -between all the overly mediocre releases- every now and then something worthwhile pops up.

For instance, take this German EP from 3 artists (Wighnomy Brothers, Marcho, Frankman) with enough inspiration to produce some nice things. Undeniably influenced by Herbert's dry percussion & bassdrums and House of 909's unrivaled deepness. "Down" and "Sputnikk Shokk" are two mid-tempo grooves, featuring sensual vocals by Delhia, spacey synthlines and nu-jazz elements. The two other tracks are more along the lines of standard jazzy deep-house.

Quality car-cruising material if you ask me.
