Kevin Saunderson (KS01) TrusttheDJ.com (2002):
my friend Ben at TrusttheDJ sent me two mixed compilations... thx again Ben... First of all it will be difficult for me to review both CD's... You have to know I'm out of the Techno scene from 1996-97, for different reasons. The scene became so big that it wasn't underground anymore. The first clubs closed or expanded to mega rave places and I didn't find any innovation at all in it. As also lot of people made uninspired techno, reused previous older good tracks or worse remixes... at that moment I discovered a lot of different styles and music that were more innovating for me.  Here in Belgium Techno became also more commercial, every nerdy radio played some techno tracks... But today I was listening to this CD I received.. and I realized I was for a part wrong. There is still good Techno and innovating music in this subculture.. But because of the masse productions you really have to stay in it to split the good stuff from the bad stuff.. and mister Saunderson did that pretty well also his mixes are very cool, we don't have to forget one of the fathers of the techno music in the 80s and early 90s then he was one of the innovators.
So if you're still in to techno and you want : NO BULLSHIT this is for sure a topper for your tech collection. Also fine selection of tracks and a few tracks of the fathers of the Techno.
THX Ben, respect Mr. Saunderson.  (more info)

Billy Nasty (BN01) TrusttheDJ.com (2002):
Like I wrote in the previous review of Kevin Saunderson I'm not really into techno anymore. But I tried to make an objective review for this CD. For me Billy Nasty is OK but a little bit too hard.. like I said I'm out of this music for a while... Found more variation in the mix CD of Kevin Saunderson. I'm really sure that people who like this style really going to like this one. Sure a must have item for the people who like up-tempo techno...
Track selection is quite okey... Mixes and I'm honest are very very good.. respect Billy!  (more info)
