![]() Sense A view from a vulnerable place 1x CD Neo Ouija |
Talking about music that captures your mind and makes a looooooong walk with it, the Sense album, "A vulnerable place" falls exactly into this category. The album is packed with tracks where you can deeply feel strong emotions breath all over it. While labeling music of this category is often too limiting, we'd make an attemt to label this album as minimalistic futuristic chilly electronica. The concepts obviously being based on bleeps and bips, Sense amazingly manages to overload the melodies with so much feeling and spirit. Track for track, these are intelligently crafted complex masterpieces of classically approached polyrythmic melodies. Imagine something like a classical piano solo transposed and woven into futuristic electronic beeps and patterns. Sense often starts from a minimalistic approach with a few piano melodies and slowly brings subtle electro-like breakbeats into the play. There is so much detail to subtle sounds and various rythmic layers, all tracks grab your attention to have it discover its full effect. Sense uses the bleeps and tics in a very well balanced way and absolutely not an irritating way several electronica artists can do these days. "A vulnerable place" is like so many great albums a full listening experience. This album is not about a particular track, not some album fillers added to some killer tracks. No, "A vulnerable place" is the perfect full circle. 10 tracks with average length well above 6 minutes bring you a over one hour chill experience. The album is already on my quite empty essential list of this year 2001, so if you can give it a try, you might not regret it. ez |
