![]() snd stdio 1x CD Mille Plateaux |
Join snd for a celebration of blips and beeps. This is one of the
few albums in this millenium that will raise lots of eyebrows. snd achieves what so few artists can achieve these days : amaze and
astonish the listener with a special experience. stdio is not really ambient, although rythm is as good as absent.
stdio is not electro as the sound has an overal warm feeling but nevertheless harsh
bleepy sounds are omnipresent. There are not really tracks or melodies on this album, it's more a continuum of repetitive chores,
bleeps, crackling noises and minimal subtle warm bass making it very hard to bring this music into words. It is as if snd took a bit of
Conjoint, Flanger, Metamatics and Pete Namlook and brewed a totally new and own concept called
stdio. The resulting cocktail is an experience that doesn't need to be analyzed but the listener must
undergo this futuristic soundscape for its full effect. Yes, we can call the snd album quite experimental. It's not really something
you'll want to present your grandmother and say "hey, this is cool". This is the cd you take into your room, close the door, dim the light, close your eyes and let your mind float into the land of ultra tech beeps, blips, crackles and tickles. Kudos to snd for achieving the creation of something unique these days and let us enjoy this experience! ez |
