![]() Future Rythm Future Funk (Inspired by the Drum Festival 1999) Drum Rythm 1CD 2000 compiled by LX Pacific |
"There are only two types of music : good and bad - the only thing which separates the one from the other, is soul. Music may be slow or fast in any given form : no race, no colour, it's all one. Therefore music becomes one of the highest means of communication between people : an interaction between musicians, dj's and the audience." (LX Pacific, 2000) You know, I get really bored with citing those stories proud dj's, compilers and musicians write in their booklets or on their covers. Who reads them anyway ? Who NEEDS them anyway ? Reviewers in need of inspiration ? Music magazine editors with huge writing blocks ? Starting webmasters who want to stuff their new www.itsallaboutdrumnbass.com site (domain names keep getting longer, thank God Gates for bookmarks). Anyway, I did it myself again, but it's just to make sure someone reads that stuff...really. Funny thing is, not a word is spilled in the booklet about what makes this compilation really interesting (it is !) : playing with D.R.U.M.S. (Damn Revolutionary and Utterly Music-innovative Sounds). A constant change of rythm and tempo keeps your ears clinched to your woofers. Basslines spread and turn in their most peculiar ways throughout this whole journey of fifteen tracks that are linked by nothing but the fact that they are all different and therefore not linked in any way but the way that they are not linked...etc. Cut the crap right now, over to the music !
