V.A.
Aphrodisiac
Universal
A collection of deep, jazzy and sensual house

Does the title lives up to the content of this double cd package ? Give it a go and let your ears confirm it ! The tracks are selected by Eva Gardner, and if she is as warm as her musical taste, wow, she must be extremely hot then :) Although, there is an overall vocal &  garage-like touch to the album, most tracks hit you straight down deep. Would you expect different, seeing the most outstanding deep houze record labels featured like Distance, People, Yellow, Nuphonic, F-Comm, Guidance, to name a few of the best! If for a change, you'd
prefer to have some quality deephouzers on cd for some car tripping instead of vinyl release, this is a compilation to go for.

Here is a full track listing and some comments :

Nightmare on wax : Les Nuits : The classic reworked, with spiced up beats and jazz touch
Martha Cinader : Livin' it : Deep beats with warm female narrating voice. Superb & intense !
Raw Emotions : SOS : Slow phat bassline with atmospheric synths and chants
Jazzanova : Bohemian Sunset : Slo-mo jazzy jazzanova composition
Tim 'Love' Lee : Everybody loves the jungle : Nice reworked 'Everybody loves the sunshine' version with wicked moogs
Pepe Deluxe : The beat experience : More reworking, without real inspiration ...
Marschmellows : Soulpower : Oldskool bass guitar driven funky houzer
Rollercone : Palais Mascotte : Deepness to drive you high!
Tom & Joyce : Vai Minha Tristeza : Classy and moody deep jazzfunkhouze
Kevin Yost : If she only knew : One of the absolute masters of deepness with this essential track
Paul Mac : Samba Interlude : Some noises, but never becoming real interesting music
Dee Box : Spiritual love : Smokey laid-down stuff

Pepe Deluxe : Woman in blue : Whoever this pepe might be, the music isn't very interesting.
Azymuth : Laranjeiras : The trusted values, Azymuth, with warm chilly acid jazz
A:xus feat. Naomi : Calling you : Takes a little long to develop into a simple rework making it uninteresting at all
Chez Damier : Close : Classic deephouzer.
The fire this time : Reluctant warrior : Sort of intermezzo soundscape with narrating
Astrotrax : Losing control : Except for the uninspired artist name, sort of Incognito-voice in deephouze disguise
Unit 46 : Don't go : The bassline is nice and deep rolling, the vocals somehow a little too much
Nova Nova : Bewildered : The Nova Nova classic in deephouze outfit
Children of the planet earth : Fly away : The trumpet sure makes us ... fly away
Adny : What if I love : Saxed up atmospheric deephouze

All in all, an interesting compilation if you prefer a nice selection of warm deep tracks for those moments in life where you cannot devote all your time behind the turntables.
